why does my bank download only check numbers, no payees?

  Because the bank is neither processing checks with optical character recognition nor paying any employees to key in every check's payee.

  Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, as of 2025 using QWin Premier (US) on Win10 Pro & Win11 Pro on 2 PCs.
