I own 24.67 shares of Disney stock according to my broker. How do I record that in Quicken?

Actually, you can use an Add Shares transaction in both cases.  The differentiation between using a Buy or an Add Shares is principally whether you want to account for where the dollars came from.  The Add Shares approach does not 'spend' dollars to 'acquire' the shares.
