New budget balances for next year

What happens to the final amounts for each category in 2022 when I create a new budget for 2023? Does the excess amount not spent just go away or does it carry over?

  That depends on how you create the new budget.
  

  If you just extend the existing budget into next year, rollover amounts roll over to next year.

  If you create a new named budget table, you start from scratch.

  To extend the existing budget table to next year, go into the Annual view and click the ">" button next to the year and you'll be prompted for options.
