I don't understand the benefit of syncing my data to the cloud.

I don't see the benefit of syncing my data to the cloud. How do I turn off this feature in Quicken for Windows?

    Go to Edit > Preferences > Mobile and Web and turn off the sync.

    Your sentiment is shared by many, me included.  I have never synced my Quicken data to the cloud.

    Quicken Windows user since 1993.

    Cloud sync is necessary for the mobile app and the web interface. If you're not using either of those then you might as well turn it off, it isn't doing anything for you. As for how, @bmciance already told you:
