How do I restore the Current Balance?

I've been using 2017 for Windows with no problems since I installed it years ago. Suddenly, the Current Balance has stopped showing on the home page. The registers are unaffected. How do I restore it?

    Are you saying that the Account Sidebar no longer shows any balance amounts?

    Click on the gear icon in the title of the Account Sidebar and click to put a checkmark on

    • Show amounts
    • (optional) Show Cents in Amounts
    • (choose only one of) Show Current Balance or Show Ending Balance

    Do make sure that the Account Sidebar is wide enough to show Account Name and Amount.
