"Quicken needs to be installed in the Applications folder"

Like others, I'm getting this error and am unable to install Quicken Classic for Mac. Even though it is in the Application folder, whenever I try to open it says, ""Quicken needs to be installed in the Applications folder." The only solution is to quit. There was a thread in July about this that was closed; I tried to the fixes there (move old file to the trash and reinstall) and it didn't work. Very frustrating.
