How do I connect automatically to Synchrony Credit Cards

Hi.

I have a new Synchrony Credit Card account (as a result of financing a purchase at a store). I want to add it to my Quicken Classic so that transactions download just like they do for my other accounts, including 2 credit card accounts.

I went to Synchrony's website and created an account and signed in. Then I created an account in Quicken. I select Syncrhony Bank Credit Cards (which means Quicken/Intuit must know about this institution), chose Express Web Connect, and entered the exact same login information as on the web. Quicken says "Looking for your accounts at Synchrony", but then says your login info is incorrect.

I called Synchrony and they said "Hey, it's Quicken's problem. Talk to them." But it's clearly not Quicken's problem and, to be honest, I can't figure out how I would contact them anyway.

Any idea what's really wrong and why it's Synchrony and how I can convince them to fix it short of canceling the new card before the promotion runs out?

I'm on Win10, Quicken Deluxe R62.16

Thanks,

Jeff

The solution, finally, was to select a Furniturre company. It's ridiculous that they purposely make this so difficult and even more ridiculous that Synchrony tech support couldn't tell me that. Not that I wanted to contact them. It should have been doable with no effort.

@Jeff Schwarz Synchrony Credit Cards can have a multitude of different login sites and ways to log in. What I have found is that "Synchrony Credit Cards" is very rarely the correct FI to use.

To sign into Sam's Club MasterCard, which is a Synchrony credit card, I use "Sam's Club Personal Credit Accou" for the FI.

Even more strange, for Mathis Home Credit, I also need to use "Sam's Club Personal Credit Accou".

I think half the battle is to find the correct FI to use for these Synchrony credit cards. And, it may turn out to be one that is totally different than what you would think.

They try to make things so easy that you can't use them.

The only one I have for Sam's Club, called "Sam's Club Bus-Synchrony" also could not find my account information.

  • @Jeff Schwarz not sure why you don't have the other one. Here is a screen print of what I see -

The one you need to use is "Sam's Club Personal Credit Accou".

  • @Jeff Schwarz that is hilarious. I had to use Sam's Club Credit to connect to a furniture company. You had to use a furniture company to connect to Sam's Club.

But then again, it is pretty sad as well. Getting these Synchrony credit cards to connect has always been difficult and it seems no one at Synchrony or Quicken understands how these connections work. What ends up happening is the Quicken user with a Synchrony credit card is left needlessly frustrated and not being able to connect their credit card account.

Does anyone have any idea which one I would use for a Synchrony account through MatressFirm? Thanks!
