Payment for Scheduled Bill Not Recognized

I have noticed that sometimes when I enter a payment for a bill I have included in the Bill and Income Reminders that some of them generate a popup and ask if this is the payment for XXXX bill scheduled for x/x/xx. But for other payments I enter also for a bill I have included in the Bill and Income Reminders there is no such recognition or prompt. I have looked at the auto enter settings for the reminders and they are identical. Payees, From Account and Categories are all the same for the payment and reminder from what I can tell but some get recognized and some don't.

What causes Quicken to recognize some bills in the scheduled reminders when a payment is entered in a register and others it does nothing

    I don’t think anyone posting in these forums has determined why some transactions are recognized as an upcoming bill reminder and some are not.

    The original functionality was to Enter bill reminders in the account register before downloading the transactions that included the payment transaction. Then the downloaded payment transaction would Match the transaction created by the already Entered bill reminder. That has been in place for many years and works very reliably. The matching of a downloaded payment transaction to a not yet Entered bill reminder was added later. Based on many complaints posted in these forums, this newer method is not as reliable as the original method.

    Quicken user since Q1999. Currently using QW2017.
