empty 'show inspector' window (Q Mac)

the dropdown menu item VIEW has a selection titled 'show inspector' which opens a new window titled ' transaction inspector' which is black. what is this supposed to do?

    Select a transaction when that blank inspector is open and it will make sense. :-) Actually, select a few to see how this tool is useful.

    It sometimes appears as blank should you have no transx selected-I consider that a UI inconsistency/bug as it should still show all the fields but with no values displayed. That way you likely wouldn't be asking the question.

    I run into the blank inspector window problem occasionally; like @John_in_NC says, you can click on a transaction in the register to get it populated. It happens so rarely that I've never been able to piece together exactly how I end up in that state.
