Schwab 401k Prices in Online Center
Hello,
Quicken Classic for Windows.
I have a 401K with Charles Schwab and have holdings in their funds (e.g., RAP2030). When I do a OSU, the prices show correctly in the online center "holdings" tab. However, these prices do not transfer to the holdings within the account within quicken.
For example, the RAP2040 price from the online center shows correctly at $25.9083. However, in the quicken account, it shows incorrectly at $25.
How do I get the price from the online center to be reflected in the account in quicken? I have deactivated the online services (direct connect) and re-activated with no change.

One option is to go the Securities tab, open Securities Detail View, click on the "More" button on the upper right hand and select "Edit Price History" with a current date.

Thank you. I wanted it to work automatically without manual intervention. The data is obviously there. It's just not transferring.

@egldvrbags the screen prints you provided look like they are from two different accounts. The security names and price ranges do not match up.
Also, the "Unidentified Security" is troubling. The "Other" in account type is also odd for a 401(k) account.
Open the drop down list (currently PRAP) in the Online Center and ensure the correct account is selected.

Thank you! Yes, both of the accounts are exactly the same "PRAP."
The "unidentified security" populates directly from Schwab. It is Schwab's Total US Equity Index (Schwab symbol RAPEQIN). There was a stock split and this is how it comes over now. In the QFX log, there isn't an "unidentifed security" but does have "Total US Equity Index."
In the Online Center, the correct account is selected and these prices match the QFX log exactly. When I select the account in quicken, the prices do not match what's in the Online Center or the QFX log.

Update. I changed the tracking method to "simple investing" for this account just to see what would happen with the prices. Now, the prices correctly match the Online Center prices when I do a OSU. If I switch back to "complete" tracking method the prices do not update in the account even though the Online Center prices update.

@egldvrbags that is very odd, but indicative of a data file issue.
Do you have any other accounts with this issue?
Have you tried other troubleshooting steps other than deactivate/reactivate?
Here are some things you can try, if you haven't already -
- Data File Validate - click File → Validate and Repair File, and then select "File Validate". Review the validate log for error messages. You can also select "Rebuild Investing lots" and/or "Correct Investing Price History" and see if that makes any difference.
- Super Validate - hold Ctrl-Shift while clicking on "Validate and Repair File".
- While in Complete Tracking mode, in the investment account, click on any transaction, then press Ctrl-Shift-Z. This will do a recalculation on the investment transactions.
Before you try any troubleshooting steps, please make a backup of your data file.

Thank you! This is the only account with the issue. It's a Schwab Retirement Plan Services account.
I called Quicken support a few days ago and they had me do the super validate, etc, that you outlined. It was interesting that the tech didn't mention about doing a back up first, but I did as I know how these things go. The super validate didn't fix the issue, just trashed my data file where it wouldn't even open. I restored from the backup. The tech told me this was a known issue with Schwab and that a fix would come out in the next release. I honestly do not believe that as he did not seem competent at all.
This started happening with a stock split in one of the holdings in the account. But, the pricing issue happens with all the holdings in the account, not just the one with the split.
What I find interesting is that the pricing data is correct in the Online Center and always has been. So, why doesn't this pricing data transfer over to the Complete Tracking mode? It transfers to "simple" but not "complete." Do these modes get their pricing data from different sources? The QFX log all along has had the correct pricing and holding info before and after the split.

Do simple and complete modes get their pricing data from different sources?
