Can someone explain why this basic Quicken functionality is no longer available? This is what I get when trying to create a Quicken Category of Subcategory

Thank you

And what are the exact category names you are trying to work with? An image snapshot of that event, before you get the Upgrade message would be helpful.

Quicken will not let you add Business categories unless you have a Business & Personal subscription. If you already have Business categories in your file you will not be able to add subcategories below them with just a Premier subscription. And even though it will show you the Business option when creating a new category, selecting it will just pop up a notice that you need to upgrade your subscription to do that.

You should not be seeing this if you're adding Personal categories or subcategories.

One thing I noticed this morning. I can Create A Category. I only get this message when trying to create a Subcategory. Definitely a bug

  • @Frank DeMello if you haven't done so already, I would recommend contacting Quicken Support. They can determine if your issue is a bug, or just isolated to your installation of Quicken. Either way, it is a way to get your issue noticed and escalated if necessary.
