Why do shares still show in my account after Remove Shares? (Q Mac)

I recently rolled shares out of one brokerage account to another. The online update downloaded the transaction as “remove shares”, but my portfolio in Quicken for Mac still shows as if I’m still holding all those shares. How can I actually remove the shares from my portfolio?

Search in the register for the word "placeholder". If you find a placeholder for these shares, delete it then download again. If shares remain removed, all good. If the placeholder returns, then the problem is with your brokerage sending the wrong info to Quicken.

I tried this and now the market value of the account is negative. The placeholder values were from 8 years ago oddly enough.

    Another download might fix it.
