Overnight, Quicken 2017 Quit Working on my Win 11 Laptop

Windows apparently updated last night.

I opened Quicken, and the check register flashes for a moment and then is covered up by a blank screen.

I do not use the "online" Quicken because I don't always have internet connectivity.

I am not geeky. I've used Quicken since the 1990s. I don't understand why Quicken keeps sabotaging it, like gangsters forcing me to pay protection fees to do my work (I am here speaking of the annual "subscription" model). I'm retired and I don't have room in my budget for Quicken's latest money grab.

If I could just get it back for a day, I'd try to save it in another format so I can get free of Quicken headaches forever.

Can anyone guide a simple person out of Quicken Hell?

Put your laptop into Airplane Mode, making sure that WiFi is turned off and the Ethernet cable is unplugged.
    Now try starting Quicken again.

If Quicken was running while Windows installed updates overnight and rebooted the computer, there's a fairly good chance that your Quicken data file has been damaged by the unexpected shutdown. You may have to restore your data file from the most recent backup taken prior to Windows reboot.
And it might be better to shut down Quicken at the end of each day.

I tried the airplane mode with no internet on. I also tried using an earlier backup. The data flashes onto the screen and is immediately covered up by an empty window generated by Quicken.
