I've read the older posts on stock splits and am still confused.
Situation:
- Brokerage today downloaded a 2 for 1 stock split transaction for HDB (an Indian bank) which became effective today.
- Price before split was around $70. Quicken adjusted stock price history back to Sept 1 to about $35.
- Today, despite quote in Quicken being correct at about $35, my portfolio dashboard shows a gain of about 100% for HDB.
- I went into the downloaded stock split transaction and entered today's opening price (again about $35) into the Price After Split field. Didn't make a difference.
- In the graph of this security I am able to toggle on and off the with split box and the graph shows correctly.
Question:
- Will this iron itself out tomorrow or in next few days?
- Why is Quicken showing an about 100% gain today even when historic data since September 1 was adjusted?
- I assume I should just leave well enough alone correct?
