I deleted it and readded it and when I did, I saw a message saying the bills had been found using my American Express Delta Skymiles account, but obviously this is not how it should work, it should automatically download. I'm wondering if I would have had different results if I had selected American Express rather than American Express Delta Skymiles as the FI. I'll try that for next month.

Interesting. I used American Express (always have). Hilton Amex wasn't an option.

When I deleted all of mine to start fresh, it picked up my Amex and USAA Visa when I pressed "Add Online Bill". It presented a dialog box with both listed. I simply said OK. My USAA still says "Awaiting next bill". My closing date for USAA is the 17th so I won't know if it's OK until next week.

Did your Amex balance get downloaded on its own this morning, or after deleting and adding the biller again?

Why is State Farm Insurance not recognized as an on-line biller?

This billing update left me with ZERO billers.

I would like to, at the very least, see these added:

    Portland General Electric (PGE)
    Northwest Natural Gas
    City of Tigard, OR Utilities

These bills vary monthly. The rest of my bills are fairly consistent and I can set them as fixed.

The net is that this billing update made the billing function useless for me.

I'm getting crashes that I feel are related to online banking. I have no connected online billers and noticed after updating to 64.25 that I get crashes on that screen. Also noticed that many of my recently posted online bills are showing the current date as the Last Payment date. This is even though many of these are actually added to quicken many days ago.

What issue is that referring to?

    This one…

Yes. These online billers were deleted and recreated on version 64.23. I am currently on 64.25 and they still don't work. I realize that there are not as many billers available with this new provider, but these are clearly offered on the new system/provider and they don't work. What I don't like is there isn't any feedback mechanism to tell me why they are failing. I also don't like that there is too much opportunity for failure as they are requiring so much information to be filled out. Before it was login and password and occasional piece of additional info. Now there is all of the input and when it fails and because quicken is like a black box with this, it doesn't tell you what fails. Is it the phone number, address number, address, account number, zipcode, first name, last name. SSN, email, etc. How are they looking at this with primary and secondary person's on the account. No feedback from Quicken dialog or interface. No log files that I know of. I have reported this several times to Quicken. BTW, all of these worked with the former provider. I lost my Netflix, AAA Towing and California State Auto Association insurance billers as they are no longer offered.

@thorn5 Yes spectrum comes up as charter spectrum but it doesn't add the bill.

    Hi Phil H.

Yes, I am aware. I'm the one who originated this discussion on August 14 seemingly well before this notorious update was released to everyone else. [Removed - Rant]

I find it curious that the four billers that have failed for me are exhibiting unusual and inconsistent behavior. From showing Pending one day and then to a failed status after trying to view the status. Now I am getting messages like "Biller account is not valid". "This biller account is no longer valid. Please delete and re-add the biller." Tried that twice and round and round I go. And what's weird too is review and repair doesn't find anything wrong.

Clearly Quicken has some work cut out for them. I wished the moderators would just put out an alert stating they recognize there is a problem with online billers so we the users don't spend anymore time on it. Also one of my CC's can't find the latest bill. Seriously considering @UKR's advice that he has repeated over and over to many users complaining about online billing problems. Just set up autopay and reminders and avoid the online biller windmill. I don't think it's ever going to work.

Have you tried what helped me? IF you have linked reminders.

    1. Unlink
    2. Delete Biller
    3. Delete reminder
    4. Restart Quicken
    5. Add Biller as new
    6. Create new reminder.

Fixed all but one for me which at least does not show as in error any longer, just pending. Or, there is no biller for some, of course, Like Adobe, Hulu. SiriusXM, Apple….

Bob, would you mind sharing the name of the billers that worked for you using the method you just described?

  • Bob.
Bob. Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭✭✭

That was a while ago, @thorn5 I can try recall but no guarantees. I know T-mobile was one. Unsure but some of these for sure: American Express, Chase, likely Fidelity.

    Have you tried?

My strong guess is this type of issue is created at least partially by having linked reminders.

Bob. Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭✭✭

I should add, BACKUP FIRST. Always.

    Thanks Bob,

The ones I have tried over and over using the method you described are Spectrum/Charter and Amica Insurance. All the others I was using prior to the new biller entity are still not available, perhaps gone for good.

  • Bob.
Bob. Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭✭✭

Ahhh. Others seem to have Spectrum issues as well.

If my method does not work, then I believe the issue is not with your local file, but the biller or bill provider.

Agreed. Furthermore, everything was just fine with my billers up until the conversion. That only leaves this new bill provider as the responsible party for my particular issues. I totally agree with @Monte Bliss and @UKR.

I've still been sitting on 63.19, avoiding the newer releases due to problems reported related to Bills&Income. I do not use Bill Pay, but use the Bills&Income section as manual pay reminders (and Paycheck), and am afraid these might get messed up. Has anyone been able to determine if manual bills get mangled as well?

  • Snorkle
Snorkle Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭✭

@BryanK I can't say for sure whether 64.25 introduced any new issues with my manual reminders. I stopped using online bills a year ago. I also don't look at the Quicken Bills and Income tab very often. However, with all the issues now with online billers I checked the Bills and Income tab and did find a couple of erroneous reminders. I had to edit them to show a future payment date and then was able to delete them. I think these reminders were leftovers that I had not cleaned up after deleting online billers last year. You will probably be ok with updating to 64.25 but I have come to expect the unexpected with Quicken.

@Snorkle was able to update to 64.25 without any issues took extensive screenshots of accounts panel, and the Planning and Bills & Income tabs and did before/after update comparisons and everything was the same. Thanks

You must live near me! Same issue with Pepco - it used to work, and was available at first, but now has disappeared. WSSC keeps on failing for me too. Shana Tova!

During this fiasco which is the new Bill Pay system, I tried to use QuickPay to pay a bill. The system took me through the Identity Verification procedure where it asks for my name, address, DOB and last 4 of SSN. I filled in the form with this info and promptly got a "Your request cannot be processed at this time. Please try again later". I tried a few more times over the next few days with the same result. Then I tried again and got an immediate "Identity Verification Failed" message without it asking for my identifying information. I looked up that message and found this:

"To comply with government regulations, Quicken is mandated to gather specific data elements about customers using Quicken Bill Manager for the purposes of identity verification. This is done to keep your accounts secure, as well as to keep Quicken a safe place for all customers and their finances. Any information you provide is securely encrypted, and is never shared or sold.

In the event that we cannot verify your identity, you won't be able to use certain features that involve money movement services. For security reasons, if you receive this message, we are unable to assist you.

Does this mean I will never be able to use the new Bill Pay system?

@cleroks Had you ever enrolled with Quick Pay before? Did you go through the process where it asks you to select a bank account to use, and it sends to random payments to verify who you are?

I had about 15 billers on the old system. I now have none on the new system. I give up.
