Download Quotes/Prices only for Current Holdings

It is very tedious to edit the securities list to not download prices when you no longer own an investment when you own brokerage managed accounts with hundreds of securities. Wouldn't decrease database size?

    The program already does that. The criteria that I see id that the program downloads prices fir securities that

    • Have the Download Quotes selection checked on the Security List, and
    • Have a valid ticker, and
      • Either are owned in a Quicken investment account,
      • Or Are included in the user's Watch List for that file (also a Security List check box)

    For me, it is a little more critical to make sure the Watch List is as desired, since new securities added to the file seem to default to also being Watch List entries.

    Ok, thanks. Never checked to see if it actually downloaded anything. Not sure why it stays on the watchlist as download quote. Regardless it would be useful if there where a checkbox to show only owned investments.

    Are you not sure why a security not owned in an account would be included in the Watch List? That is exactly the point of the Watch List as I see it. So that the investor can monitor the price and other data of a non-owned security to determine if it is now a timely buy. Or they must use a watch list security as a comparative baseline against their other holdings.
