Download asset class information and Matched with online security are grayed out

A bond was downloaded into my portfolio as a stock. I manually added the bond and deleted the stock. When I reconcile shares Quicken is in agreement with the brokerage. However, Download asset class information and Matched with online security are grayed out. The rest of my bonds are enabled. How do I fix this so this bond is enabled too?

    None of my securities with Type = Bond allow for downloading asset classes. Since bonds do not have a ticker (valid with respect to the NYSE and similar stock exchanges), it makes sense to me that the program does not have a method to download asset classes for bonds.

    Getting the 'Matched' box checked, you can try from the account's transaction list, the Actions option to Reconcile Shares. That should offer to match up the brokerage's downloading security to the one you created.

    I think you would have been better to simply edit the downloaded 'stock' changing the Type to Bond.

    Thanks for the reply. My other bonds that were downloaded around the same time frame show them as enabled. In hindsight, I thought it might have been better to edit as well. However, I restored from back up and edited and it was still grayed out. I also tried Reconciling Shares and they match.

    This may be the case, which is inconsistent with what my other bonds show, but I think it would still be matched with online security.

    I don’t see how your brokerage reported holdings can be matching up with a Quicken security that shows as not “Matched with online security”.

    Maybe a file validation or a file super validation would be appropriate.

    I would also review the security list in detail. I would have it showing hidden securities. I would variously sort the list by name, by ticker, and by CUSIP looking for unintended duplicates.

    I have done both validation or a file super validation (been using Quicken since DOS V1—showing my age, LOL). There are no dups (going through the list is how I found the incorrectly matched security to begin with).
