How can I delete an attachment from a transaction that is a transfer from another account register

I have a transaction in a checking account register that has a split transaction to an HSA account register. I accidentally attached a document to the HSA account register transaction and want to remove the attachment. When I click on the attachment icon and select Show attachments, it says this transaction is locked and cannot be edited. I then have the option to go to the original transaction in the checking account. But, of course, the attachment I want to remove is not on the original transaction.

Is ther no way of removing an attachment from a transfer transaction?

    This does seem like faulty logic in the design. You can't edit the child end of a linked transaction, and since adding an attachment is essentially editing the child, it should not be allowed.

    That said, the way to fix this is to go to the split transaction in the Checking register, edit that transaction and remove the link (transfer) to the HSA account (you can leave that line in the split). Save the edit. Then edit the Checking transaction again, adding back the link (transfer) to the HSA account. You'll now see that the transaction in the HSA account no longer has an attachment.
