Quicken Mac 8.4.1: Duplicate Bank-to-Bank Transfers After Update

Quicken for Mac Version: 8.4.1
macOS: 15.7.3
Latest Quicken update: Installed 1/1/2026

I’m experiencing an issue where bank-to-bank transfers are suddenly appearing duplicated in one account register.

For example, a single CHASE online transfer is being duplicated:

  • One entry appears as “CHASE online transfer,” amount $3,000, categorized as a Transfer, with a blue dot at the beginning of the line.
  • A second entry appears for the same transaction, displayed in brackets, effectively duplicating the transfer.

This behavior began only after the most recent update and was not occurring previously. The duplicate entries are throwing off account balances significantly.

Has anyone else encountered this issue, is there a known workaround or fix, and is it possible to roll back to a previous version of Quicken for Mac?

    The top two transactions appear to be manually entered transactions, possibly scheduled transactions. You can tell that from the brown pencil icon. The bottom two transactions appear to be those same transactions downloaded from the bank after the transaction cleared, you can tell that from the blue dot. The downloaded transactions should have matched the top two transactions but for some reason did not, so you have to drag one onto the other to manually match them up. That happens to me occasionally.

    Thank you @Jon — you’re correct. I referred to these as duplicated “transfers,” but we’re describing the same issue. What I didn’t realize before is that you can drag one transaction onto the blue transaction to match them. (how do you do this correction btw, for many of these now appearing in this account?).

    That said, is this the result of an error during sync? I’m trying to understand why this has suddenly started happening, and why it’s only affecting this account. None of my other bank accounts are exhibiting this behavior. Thanks again for your time.
