Creating a new account

I would like to create a new account in my Quicken Classic, but am running into a ton of problems. No, I am not a new user - have been using Quicken for decades; however, my machine runs Windows 7 and that could be the problem.

When I try to create a new account, I enter the entity on the Connect Account tab, click Next, but then all that I get is a blank window. I tried setting up the account from the Offline Account tab, but the Account Details page is different from the other accounts I have with the same institution and I can get data via One-Step Update.

What on earth should I do (and changing the OS is NOT an option).

I don't remember much about windows 7, but as a long shot right click the qw.exe file, properties and see if it gives you the opportunity to run in windows 7 mode, or maybe you are already doing that?

Figure out what to do: Created the account as a regular investment account, transferred the funds in, then change the account type to retirement.
