MacBook compatibility?

I am currently running   Version 8.4.2 on a MacBook Pro 2019 with 2.6 ghz 6core Intel i7, 16 GM RAM, 2 TB hard drive.  I am considering upgrading to MacBook M4 Max 16core, 48GB RAM, 4 TB hard drive.

  • Will I have any compatibility issues with your application?
  • How do I migrate the license and configuration?

Version 8.2.4 will run fine on your new MacBook running Tahoe. If you use Apple's Migration Assistant, everything should come over and operate just as before.

Or you can download the Quicken app from your Quicken.com account and install. If you move the data file, you should make a backup, move that file to the new machine and double click to install. This will prevent any possible file permissions problems that can occur if you move the non-backup original file.

By default, you will find your data file at Hard Drive > Users > Username > Library > Application Support > Quicken > Documents. TO access the User Library folder, hold down the Option key while clicking the Go menu in the Finder.

Note that if you opt not to use the Migration Assistant, then you'll have to reconnect your accounts for online access since the login credentials for your accounts won't be transferred over to your new Mac by just copying the data file.
