Can no longer copy & paste using ctrlC & ctrlV or Edit Menu; preferences are set to Windows standard

When I start Quicken, I am able to cut and paste a few text items into the description but it stops working at all after a few transactions. I can't copy & paste using either ctrl-C & ctrl-V or Edit Menu;. Preferences are set to Windows standard. I have restarted Quicken, toggled the preferences but it doesn't change.

    Are you trying to paste formatted text? I'd try a test by opening and typing into a text document and attempting to copy/paste that repeatedly.
