I am running Quicken Classic Premier Version R67.7 Version 27.1.67.7 on Windows 11.
Nominally Friday May 15, I performed a One-Step Update. In the process, I was directed to BOA for a re-validation of my accounts, both banking and Merrill Lynch investment. As a result, two of my investment accounts now show an update (Express Web Connect+ - Simple Investing). After working with a Quicken Help Agent for a period of time, the problem was not resolved and I was directed to contact BOA/Merrill.
While working with the BOA Agent, she made a call to the Quicken Help Desk. The determination was made that Quicken dropped the use of Express Web Connect+ and only uses Direct Connect. As a consequence, the downloads from BOA/Merrill are basic investment information through Express Web Connect+ - Simple Investing.
As a result of this change, I no longer get the detailed information for my investments that I need for analyzing. I know have to get to the BOA/ML website to get the information. This, in essence, has turned Quicken Classic Premier into a VERY expensive check book.
Will Quicken be revising its method of connecting with one of the largest banking and investing firms in the world? If so when.
