You shouldn't need to restore from backup, did you try navigating to your Quicken file & opening it directly? The default location for your Quicken file would be /Users/your user name/Librar…-1 -

I’m not sure Quicken will automatically change the names of investments once they’ve been initially set up in your account. You might have to fix that by hand.-1 -
