Personally, I’d go with #2. Whether to move transactions or delete and manually re-create would depend on number of transactions.1 -
Re: Backup size not changing
To clarify, all Quicken files (since 2010 or so) are ZIP-style compressed files; not just backups. There is no distinction in that manner between a regular Quicken QDF file and a QDF-backup file.2 -

I suspect the reverse split got entered creating 183 old shares (with the correct basis) and an Add Shares of 183 new shares was downloaded / entered (without the correct basis). If so, I would delet…1 -
