Small point......you said you have 2 accounts set up. You mean 2 Files, right? Then each File has Accounts set up in it.1 -

Or after installing 2008 you needed to update it. If you want to reinstall an old version you will need to update it first. Quicken doesn't have the old update patches but One of the SuperUsers …2
