Also check the Filter settings at the top of the register. Try clicking on Reset to show all the transactions.1 -

What page changed? Are you in a account register? Is the register out of order? You can sort by most of the columns in the register by just clicking the column heading.1 -

That is the right default place. But you should also back up to a usb drive or dvd or external location or a cloud backup, etc. Because if your computer crashes you will lose the backup too.2
