cannot add security

unable to add a security.  Security List has "show hidden securities" checked so they do show.  Clicking on "Add Security" gives the window to enter the symbol or name.  Entering "VTIAX" gives a prompt for "Vanguard Total International Stock Index Admiral" -- this is the correct item.  Clicking on the prompted name and on "Next" gives a window saying "Quicken will add the following information for the new security..."  Clicking on "Done" closes the process, but the security is not in the Security List.  I tried exiting and restarting Quicken (version Home & Business 2017 on Windows 10) and also tried Validate and Repair with no resulting errors.  Still does not work.  Suggestions?

Try opening your Security List, displaying ALL (including hidden) securities, and then Click on the Symbol column header to sort by that.

See if you've already used the VTIAX symbol.  That would be the problem.
