I have 2018 Quicken Premier. I have had a cash transaction account for quite a while and I have just purchased some securities from the cash in the account.  I would like to track it all.

Are you talking about an account to track how much cash you have in your wallet?

To track investment accounts with securities held at an investment brokerage company you need to create an appropriate Brokerage account.

To register the fact that you have deposited the cash from your cash transaction account to the brokerage, to fund these investment purchases, you need to create a transfer transaction in Quicken. In your cash account, categorize this transaction using the account name of the brokerage account enclosed in [square brackets], e.g., [My XYZ Brokerage].
