Restore pc backup file to a mac

I was using Quicken 2018 on a PC and made daily backups. The PC has died and rather than replace it, I'm going looking to use my MacBook Pro. I have Quicken installed on the MAC and have transferred the PC backup to the Mac, however, the Mac version of Quicken does not recognize the backup file. Are there additional steps or conversion steps that I need to follow? I've done a few searches on this but haven't found anything specific.

Rename your backup file to change tbe file type to .QDF. The backup file is just a .QDF file with a different file type, but the routines built-in to Quicken Mac probably doesn't know that.0
