When I import my quicken windows for canada file into quicken mac, it assumes my securities are on the US exchange which means all the security symbols that I have the TSE, which is the majority, have to all be manually changed

Did you check the setting in Quicken Mac for country = US or Canada?

At the time of import the features preference was set to canada.  I trade on both the US  and  Canadian stock exchanges and have accounts in both countries, so after the import I do change it to both.  In the current windows version the securities are configured for both exchanges, so it should know  it when it does the import.
