    I have the same question: How to track a private investment fund in Quicken? I don't need to accurately record short-term and long-term gains and losses, or dividends reported. That is reported in detail in the K1, and anyway not reported quarterly.
    But I do want to track the performance long-term. So I need to be able to track new purchases, withdrawals, and record quarterly gains and losses.
    The solution described by RickO handles gains adequately as reinvested dividends. How about losses?
