Manually entered transactions are not showing up in portfolio view

I am in the process of migrating from Quicken Windows to Q Mac. The migration went well with only one brokerage account showing errors. However, when I try to manually enter transactions such as reinvestments or remove stock, the transactions do not affect the totals shown in portfolio view. The transactions do appear in the transaction view, but don’t seem to be accepted. What am I doing wrong? It’s got to be something simple...
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes, it likely is something simple as a placeholder transaction. You can see Rick's writeup about them:
