When entering security purchases, sometimes the transaction is not listed on the portfolio page

The transaction page is correct, but the number of shares sometimes does not update. Refreshing
does not help correct the issue. This does not happen all the time, only too much for my patience. I usually just delete and reinstall the account. It's a Merrill Edge account if it makes a difference. Thanks.

    You likely have a Placeholder transaction for this security.

    You can:
    1. Go to the oldest transactions in the register and look for a transaction for this security. It likely will be the placeholder transaction.
    2. Enter the security name in the Search box for the account. Then proceed as in #1.
