Can't Open Data File

I had to replace the hard drive on my Mac.  I downloaded a never version of Quicken after the new hard drive was installed.  When I try too open my data file (I had backed it up) I get two dialog boxes:  One is a small dialog box that says, "Quicken cannot open data file.  A file does not exist."  Behind that small dialog box is a larger dialog box that says, "Converting your 2017 Quicken data."  That dialog box has a spinning wheel that keeps on spinning and spinning.  I'd be grateful for any ideas anyone has on how to solve this.  Thank you.
