Manual input of actual amounts

I have set up a monthly Budget and now I want to manually input the actual amounts, i.e. not draw the amounts from a checking account or credit card transaction. Is there a simple way to do this?

Ih order to allow for the proper categories to show proper totals, they will have to be entered from a checking account or credit card with a category attached to each transaction so that the values in which are entered will show versus the budgeted values.

So, technically, your answer is no.. They have to draw from a category entered in the ledger.
