Cleared items not appearing in reconcile window

I've been using Quicken for over 25 years and just updated to the latest and greatest 2019 Premier.  When I went to reconcile an investment account, not all the cleared items showed in the reconcile window to be checked to complete the reconcile process.  If I add the transactions not appearing in the reconcile window to the register, I will have duplicate items and presumably some reconciled and some not.  This would be a very tedious process, and totally unacceptable.  

I've done the file validation dance step.

How come all these great improvements create more complicated problems?

    Which FI for the investment account ?
    For a couple of mine - they want to reconcile to either -
    A- cash balance in the account (if that exists)
    B - share balance
