I have expenses categorized in different categories and wish to combine those categories, without editing every transaction

You can merge categories, but the method is a bit hidden.
1. Open the Categories window (menu Window > Categories)
2. Make sure the two categories you want to merge are at the same level in the hierarchy.
3. If not at the same level, drag and drop one of them to make them at the same level.
4. Double click the one you want to get rid of and change its name to be exactly the same as the one you want to merge it into.
5. Quicken will ask you if you want to merge them.
6. You are all set. The change will be reflected in all transactions.
7. If you make a mistake, be sure to use menu Edit > Undo before closing the file.Quicken Mac Subscription; Quicken Mac user since the early 90s7
