How do I change the name on a check that is issued to an account when I download data from my bank?
jmaxpjp2
it shows the original name that's listed for that account instead of the name that is actually on the check.

Payee data is not captured from the bank systems. So they cannot pass that in the download. Typically all that is provided is the check # for the description. Clicking on the item before accepting it provides the opportunity to edit the payee (in the register), then accept.

If you write and mail a paper check, manually record this transaction in Quicken BEFORE the check clears the bank. This will give you a register transaction which is correctly named, categorized, etc.
As

said, the bank has no information in its computers about paper checks other than the check number. Only if the Payee converts the paper check into an electronic debit will there be additional payee information available at the bank.
