How do I add an "income reinvestment" transaction to my investment account?

I'm recording transactions from statement into in my investment account. One of the transaction description is "income reinvestment". What do I select under "Type" in my quicken account? Also I have transactions for short term and long term cap gain reinvestment. I input those but the balance did not change. Thanks for any help provided.

If the income reinvestment is not short or long term capital gain, then it's probably Dividend Reinvestment. The only other choice is Interest Reinvestment, but that's not common in an investment account.
With a reinvestment transaction, the cash balance in the account will not change. However, the share balance of the security should increase. If that's not happening, it could be due to a Placeholder transaction. See this:
