Why does a newly added account not download historical transaction?

I added the two accounts from a bank today, and there are no historical transactions. It accurately downloaded and reports the current balance as the opening balance, but I don't see anything else, even after days of waiting and forcing an update of accounts several times. I removed and added the accounts again, but I don't see any transactions.
