If you are exporting to QXF, then your file isn't likely corrupted.
The fix for the hang at step three is known and is being addressed in future updates of Quicken for Mac.5

Actually that’s wonderful news. Thank you. I’ve called Quicken three times about this and none of the tech people seem to know that. How did you find out? And I wonder how many new versions were going to have to wait for this?0
