My broker had to change my account numbers. How best can I update my history on Quicken

Fidelity had to "remove" my securities from one account number to another. It took a matter of days. The history did not download from Fidelity and in process I've been unable to transfer the Quicken history. Should I delete the accounts on Quicken and treat new account numbers on Quicken as a first time loading of Fidelity?

I would first backup the data file.
Edit the account details in Quicken for the existing account to disable to online access to Fidelity.
Then re-establish the online connectivity connecting the current Quicken account to the new Fidelity account.
That MAY create a bunch of newly downloaded transactions which in all likelihood you would not want. There are some tricks to easing that acceptance/deletion process, if there are a lot of them.
If you get into too much trouble, restore the backup and try again.5
