If you're having difficulty using a password to access your data file set, I suggest you restore a backup you saved prior to experiencing the issue.

I'm assuming you put a password on your Quicken data file. If so and you've forgotten the password, you're out of luck. Quicken 2008 is long past it's support period.

WHY would it ask for a NEW password ??
Are we talking about the Quicken data file that is opened when you start Quicken ?
OR - something else ?
Is this the screen you are seeing ? and... as it says... Passwords are CASE sensitive
