If I remove a security from my "security list" does that eliminate all the buy/sell transactions from my money folder for that security and, therefore, make my money folder balance no longer accurate ??

Yes, it does. More specifically, in order to remove a security from the security list, you need to delete all transactions associated with that security. Your cash balances will be thrown out of whack by doing so. You may be better off to "Hide" the security. But to get some sound advice, perhaps you should tell us what you are trying to accomplish5

I am an active trader and I have accumulated a few hundred securities over time in my "security list". I would like to prune that list to make it much smaller and current. Sounds like erasing securities from that list will change my cash balances which I do not want to do. How do I "hide" a security on the list ?0

The Security List (Ctrl-Y) has a Hide check box for each security. In most places where you have a security to pick, you have the option to show or not show hidden securities.0
