How can a prevent a hidden account (liability with a credit balance) from appearing on my Net Worth report?

Click the gear at the top right of the report.
Click on Accounts
De-select any accounts you do not want to include in the report

Edit account details to keep this account Separate. 

That is what is by design to exclude from Net Worth. It will move to the Separate area on account bar.
