Missing historical data in some accounts

Help! All of the historical data is missing from two AMEX accounts prior to 11/26/19. I have no idea what happened or why that date. I have lots of backups, but am hesitant to simply restore a backup from prior to that date because I will then lose all of the data following that date.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think the best approach would be to copy the historical data to a .qif file and import that file into Quicken. These are the steps I would take:
1) Backup your current Quicken file (include the date in the file name or otherwise make sure you identify it)
2) Open your recent Quicken backup files, starting with the most recent, until you find one with the missing historical AMEX data.
3) With the AMEX account open in Quicken - select: File > File Export > QIF File... and save the file with a name like "AMEX_history". Then exit Quicken.
4) Reopen Quicken and select: File > Backup and Restore > Restore from Backup file > Restore from your backup > and then locate and select the backup file you created in Step 1) above > Then hit "Restore Backup"
5) You'll need to set-up a new account in the "Property & Debt" section that will be used to do the "import" of the missing AMEX transactions. Select: Tools > Add Account > in the "Property & Debt" section select "Other Asset" > for "account Name type "QIF Import" and select either "personal" or business and hit Next.
6) Select: File > File Import > QIF File... > and browse to the location of the QIF file created in Step 3) above. For "Quicken account to import into:" use the drop-down to select the "QIF Import" file you created above, then make sure that the "Transactions" and "Special handling for transfers" boxes are checked. Then hit the "Import" button.
7) The missing transactions should now be in the new "QIF Import" account located in the "Property & Debt" section. -Open that account and confirm that they are there.
8) You should now be able to do a "cut & paste" of the missing transactions from the "QIF Import" account to the AMEX account.
9) Once there are no transactions in the "QIF Import" account, you can delete it (or leave it in case you ever need to do this routine again.

Would it be possible to open a new Quicken file, restore a backup to that new file, and then copy the missing transactions from that new file to the existing file? If so, it would be great if someone could walk me through that. TIA!0
