Here is a work around to the bug in One Step Update that kicks the user out to Windows when a security is encountered that is not on Quicken's securities list. Do this:
Exit Quicken to Windows then re-enter Quicken. Skip doing a One Step Update. Instead go to the Tools tab, then Security List, and click on the Add Security tab at the bottom of the page. Enter the ticker symbol for the new security in the Add Security to Quicken box. Quicken will then add the new security to its securities list. When the user uses One Step Update again, it will work normally, will recognize the newly added stock, and not kick the user out to Windows.
