Does the Lifetime Planner module need to be modified to reflect the SECURE Act provisions
wgmelton
The SECURE Act which was rolled into the FY 2020 Appropriations Bill changed RMD provisions, namely, that they must start in the year a person reaches the age of 72 vice 70.5. If the Lifetime Planner module needs to be modified to reflect the change in law, when will it be or has it already been modified?

I'm sure it could be modified. But I'd like the option to use either one (old or new) as selectable in the Planner.

Good point on the 70.5/72 option. Its unclear, at least in my reading, how existing retirees will be affected. When the IRS publishes the relevant tables, then LTP may need to accommodate both.....maybe....I'll amend the idea post.
