Is there a limit to the length of the file name, such that after that limit it is "too long to be imported into quickbooks"?

Hi @Julian Peeters ,
The Maximum length is only set by Microsoft of being 255 Characters and that includes the total Path Length as well.
Ideally, you want the Quicken Data File name like limited to your first name only.
For Example: Julian 2020.qdf
And when you do a Manual Backup with Add Date function:
Z:\Quicken Backup\Julian 2020-2020-01-14.QDF-backup
Without Add Date:
Z:\Quicken Backup\Julian 2020.QDF-backup

You should try asking this in the QB forum. This forum is exclusively for Quicken.

I would suggest that the file names AND the sub-dir path NOT have any spaces. For Example: Julian 2020.qdf
And when you do a Manual Backup with Add Date function:
Z:\Quicken Backup\Julian 2020-2020-01-14.QDF-backupQuicken gets weird sometimes....No space Example: Julian-2020.qdf
